PLANNED PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE

  • This is a highly regulated part of facilities management. It is linked to all tasks and frequencies dictated by the regulations applicable. As well as the basic statutory duties related to maintenance of assets in buildings, there are standards that include the best practice and guidance for the correct maintenance of all assets.

  • As a result of a well planned preventive maintenance, a building will be compliant and will ensure a minimum disruption, optimum performance of its assets and finally the building will keep or increase its value. For that, it is critical to identify all assets and associate them to a suitable and sufficient schedule of maintenance, according to approved standards.

  • The aim of a well planned preventative maintenance is to make the building behave according to the needs of the operator and minimise disruptions and costs. The tasks carried out during the planned preventative maintenance must be recorded and reported to enable reviews and identify trends, costs and areas of improvement.
